Mission
Member Organization
The AACTS constituent coalition supports millions of Americans committed to high-quality teaching.
The professional organizations comprising AACTS appoint member representatives to the boards that are qualified by education and experience, in their respective fields. Professional qualifications and affiliations of each board member are obtainable by the public upon request, under the specified terms described in AACTS’s policies on dissemination. Each governing board member is trained by the agency on their specific codes of conduct, policies, and procedures, including processes for establishing and modifying policies, and for making accreditation decisions, decisions on partnerships, and decisions on applications to recognize program standards. Formal, required training for new members on the boards takes place annually, for either a full day or a half day prior to the fall board meetings. Further training sessions are possible on an as-needed basis.
Professional organizations that are involved with AACTS give supply financial support and contribute to the development of standards, procedures, and policies.
